Get the sharp view

Get The Sharp View was designed as a multilateral youth exchange, which was held in Slovenia 22th – 29th June 2013. It involved five youth participants and one leader from Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Spain. The target group of the project was youth between the ages of 18 – 25 who is devoted to Europe’s future and willing to improve its sense of global solidarity and commitment concerning current issues.

Participants got to know how the media phenomenon affects their daily lives and the communication among people from different countries. GTSV gave the opportunity to learn more about changes and technical developments, which affect our habits, our way of thinking and doing connected with the development of media. The main goal of project was to widen the horizons of participants through interesting topics such as mass media, celebrity cult, infotainment, yellow press etc.

During the course of the project we discussed how to acquire media’s attention and thought of ways how to educate local communities about media. As a means to reach our goals we used different methods such as group work, simulation, theatre method, role play, meditation technique etc.

Throughout the youth exchange participants were experiencing intercultural learning in mixed groups and were involved in different non-formal learning methods, which emphasized mutual work and collaboration.

During the youth exchange interesting learning outcomes were produced such as: a drama piece on the importance of mutual understanding and collaboration within the European Union, a small scale survey on media habits among local community, a presentation on photo journalism and an art work depicting changes in the world caused by media.

At the last evening of the activity a public event was organised to share the project results with those who were not directly involved in the project and interested public from the local community.
